5. With one hand, hold the cotton wick upright inside the self-watering pot. Gradually add the dried Mason Bee Mud until the cotton wick is completely covered.

6. Fill the water reservoir and allow the dried Mason Bee Mud to gradually hydrate, which will take approximately one hour.

7. Top off the water reservoir.

One More Thing.

Fill nesting tunnels, whether with reeds, bamboo, or kraft paper tubes, with Mason Bee clay to prevent predators from entering from the rear.

Take a small amount of hydrated Mason Bee Mud from your Mud Mine and knead it between your thumb and finger until it forms a pea-sized mud ball. Insert the mud ball into the back of each nesting tube, sealing off the rear entrance from ants and other predators.
